Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

DraftHive (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information when you use drafthive.ca.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, including: name, email address, and password (hashed) when you register; story ideas, descriptions, and creative content you submit; profile information such as bio and username; payment information processed through Stripe (we do not store card numbers). We also automatically collect: IP address and device information; pages visited and features used; browser type and operating system.

3. OAuth and Third-Party Sign-In

If you sign in using Google, GitHub, Discord, Microsoft, Twitter, or Apple, we receive basic profile information (name, email, profile ID) from those providers. We do not receive your passwords for those services.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: provide and operate the DraftHive platform; process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe; generate AI evaluations and pitch packages using the Anthropic Claude API; send transactional emails (account notices, collaboration requests, team invites) via Resend; generate video trailers via the Luma Dream Machine API; improve and personalise the Service; comply with legal obligations.

5. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third-party processors: Stripe — payment processing and subscription management (stripe.com/privacy) Anthropic — AI evaluation of idea content (anthropic.com/privacy) Luma AI — video generation from idea prompts (lumalabs.ai) Neon — cloud database hosting (neon.tech/privacy) Vercel — application hosting (vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy) Resend — transactional email delivery (resend.com/privacy)

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal, tax, or audit purposes. Cryptographic hash records of idea submissions may be retained indefinitely as proof-of-timestamp records.

7. Cookies

DraftHive uses a single session cookie (“session_token”) to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; object to or restrict certain processing; data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@drafthive.ca.

9. Children's Privacy

DraftHive is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS, bcrypt password hashing, and httpOnly/secure session cookies. However, no internet transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.

11. International Transfers

DraftHive is operated from Canada. By using the Service, you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in Canada and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate (including the United States).

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
